Dr. Chenyang Shen is an Assistant Professor and a Medical Physicist in the Department of Radiation Oncology at The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (UTSW). He obtained his Ph.D. in Computational Mathematics in 2015 from The Hong Kong Baptist University under the supervision of Prof. Michael K. Ng. He became a Post-doctoral Researcher in 2016, and then an Instructor in 2018 at UTSW working with Prof. Xun Jia. Dr. Shen completed his residency training in Clinical Medical Physics (2021-2023) at UTSW before joining the Faculty team.
Dr. Shen's research has been focused on developing novel numerical algorithms and machine learning/deep learning techniques for cancer radiation therapy and medical imaging. He has published a number of manuscripts in prominent scientific journals, including IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging, Medical Image Analysis, Medical Physics, and Physics in Medicine and Biology.
